Welcome

We are a new lab (est. Jan. 2026) in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of South Carolina, broadly interested in the ecology and evolution of phage-host interactions in changing environments. â€‹â€‹

We primarily use experimental approaches to ask questions about how environmental context impacts these interactions in non-model marine systems, with a current focus on prophages (integrated viruses in bacterial genomes). Our questions span biological levels, ranging from the molecular to community scale.

Prospective trainee or collaboration inquiries are welcomed at any time.
